Franklin Hill & Associates
Planning for Tomorrow's Educational Change
Since being the lead facility planners for the Disney Celebration School,
IBM Partnership schools in Canada, and over 250 school districts nationally,
we believe our school buildings must help to guide education into the
future. Major shifts in technology, curriculum, delivery, and community
use are significantly altering the size, function, and environmental
needs
of our schools. Thus, planning and design must be more creative and flexible
than ever before. Yet, many of our children are being educated in new
or remodeled schools that have been designed to 1990's standards. The
planning and designing of a school, whether new or remodeled, must provide
an opportunity to re-examine past practices, assess emerging instructional
methods, and consider program changes appropriate to the user. For this
to occur, the facility planning process must provide educational, technological,
and design leadership-all working together to ultimately create the most
appropriate learning environment.
Franklin
Hill & Associates is
a national leader in successfully facilitating a collaborative and well-directed
participatory planning process, which results in feasible and cost-effective
buildings. Change must be understood before it can be accepted and embraced. Through
our people-oriented process, we can explore together trends that may work
for your unique local needs. And with our experience, we can provide you
with access to options through videos, workshops, and multimedia presentations.
